Hi pals!! This week, I’m collating our valentine's card mailing address. This isn’t too complicated for me, since I already keep an extensive database of friends and family with FileMaker Pro. But even if you don’t have this, it still shouldn’t take you too long. Set aside a few hours this week, and gather your mailing addresses. Even if you’re planning on a simple newsletter sent via email, make sure you have correct emails. You don’t want to spend hours nagging your friends (and your friends of friends) when you could be snuggling on the couch with hot chocolate and Elf.You can invest in some database software, or you can simply keep them in address labels, Excel and print them for your Home Management Notebook. There are also a few online secure return address labels.This year, we stick on address labels on our holiday 10 mailers - for addresses that take longest for postcards to get to. Here is what goes on in my little brain as i scan the address labels looking for the "far" states from Canada. Adress labels are one of the best choices for keeping addresses of our friends. Shreya claims that she is bored to death playing the lovely lady romancing the male lead. As if to fulfill her wishes, she recently finished filming for the Deepa Mehta directed ‘What is Cooking’ where she plays the female lead sans a love interest. “Debutant Rakhi plays opposite me, however there are no romantic scenes or songs between us,” Shreya was quoted as saying to a tabloid. Shreya further added that she has been complaining her friends about the boredom of having to play love scenes and duets in movies.

My plan of this year is to open a savings account or purchase cd or certificate of deposits would be good too. Certificate of Deposits (CD) usually become a popular choice whenever stocks are in a bear market as people start to realize just how much portfolio values can fall. Put simply, a CD represents a deposit with the bank where the terms (length, interest etc) are pre-negotiated. Many CDs have auto renews for you unless you explicitly tell them to deposit the interest and principal at the end of the term to your bank account. Normally, the auto renew feature isn’t too bad but if your CD has an early withdrawal penalty that eats into your principal like the example earlier in the piece, beware. Forret Gump - unforgettable

This is a powerful yet charming movie; fun for its special effects and profound in how it keeps you thinking long after it's over. Like others, I've seen this movie more than once. One comment I've never heard is that Forrest's simplicity is almost zen-like. I should read the novel to get the author's intention (I remember some people preferring the book and complaining that no one at the Academy Awards gave him any credit.) But rather than an implication that you should do what you're supposed to do and believe in God and you'll win in the end, I see it as zen-like, i.e., living in the moment and not having expectations or particular cravings (other than his loving Jenny.) So he ends up just stumbling into all the major historical events of the time. Granted, he achieves this only because he doesn't have the brains to think otherwise and actually have expectations, but so many of our problems are because we do have higher intellect and desires, which ironically makes us unhappy because we know what we are missing. We love our cats and dogs for the same simplicity and always being in the moment. There's a line in the movie wondering if everything is predestined or happens randomly or it's a combination of both. It is something to mull over for a long time.

Year 2009!

I am happy that I made most of it.

It all started at b’lore for me. I still remember my parents seeing me off the KSRTC bus that morning to b’lore for my posting like they saw me off the middle school main gate few years ago.

I marked the beginning of 2008 at b’lore.

I lived there for almost 6 months. January 1st to June 23rd. A beautiful episode in life. I go to know new people.

GPSC was my first proper assignment at b’lore Wipro.

Pankaj, my project manager.. Vartha, my project lead.. Anuradha and Panneer, my teammies! The best people to get acquainted.

They made most of my b’lore wrk life. Pankaj was an amazingly cool manager. He helped me out with all my short comings at work. Vartha was the best project lead someone would ever want to have by your side. Extremely helpful and a awesome person by heart and thoughts. Anuradha was a brilliant team mate. I really had a wonderful time wrking alongside her. Panneer is another very concerned team mate who is as silent as the deep sea, but his knowledge on telecom is really as large as a !

My roomies Sandy, Ishaan(Prasanth), Gopal, Suresh, Vinod and Praveen. It was awesome living with those guys althou’ I knew most of them from my college days. I still fret, that all those days are gone.

After some breath taking twist and turns in my Chennai transfer, I finally got transferred to Chennai. Thanks to Pankaj and Ram(I hate this person thou’)

Coming back to Chennai and joining fujitsu odc was quite a good continuation in my work life. My present colleagues are really amazing. I thank god for always having great and kind people around me all through the year in every aspect of life. 2008 marked the start of a married life for Anand, my project manager. Lokesh (Loki), my mentor got a new sweet home from himself. So lotsa good things happened around me.

I got billed from day1 on this current assignment. It s almost 6 months for me in my current assignment (FW 4100). All these 6 months have truly been a great experience for me.

Atleast according to me, the best place to end things is always from where it all started. My new year 08 started at b’lore, I therefore wanted to end it at b’lore again. So I’ve taken off from work for the the new year.

Therefore I am off to b’lore for the new year.

My first n the final shot at TOEFL.

Well my Test of English as a Foreign Language is happening tomorrow at 10 am at everonn systems at Ashok Nagar. I had taken off from work today assuming that i would spend most of it by preparing for the test. However, i spent most if it by sleeping.

My preparations have been just okay. I took a few practice tests over the IBT training material. Oh my god! It's so boring, although i always liked my english classes at school. I got reminded of my english teachers today. I felt so thankful to all my english teachers for helping me learn the foreign language, being in a country where it is not spoken much by all the native people.
